Quechua Benefit Ambassador Program

Quechua Benefit has been on the ground in Peru since 1996, covering the highlands from Arequipa to the Colca Valley, Puno to Macusani, and points in between. The charity operates in more than 40 pueblos and is connected to major Peruvian companies and assorted charitable organizations. Quechua Benefit employes a full time director in Peru, Dr. Willy. In the past three years Quechua Benefit has introduced charitable organizations to Peru who are now working in the highlands to help fight poverty. We provided the initial transportation, itineraries, translators, and introductions for the charity personnel: at no cost. Quechua Benefit would like to be your organization ambassador to Peru. Please contact Mike Safley by email, Mike@alpacas.com or by phone, 503 703 6020 (cell) or 503 628 3110 (office).

Quechua Benefit Ambassador's

International Children Network

ICN is committed to meeting the needs of deserving children in Peru. ICN and its sponsors are proud of the fact that sponsorship allows every child to break the cycle of poverty and become the hope of their nation instead of a part of the problem. For every child that is sponsored by ICN, there is one more ray of hope in their future and in Peru's future!!!

ICN has found sponsors for more than 100 children in Peru at the same orphanages that Quechua benefit supports: Musqa Runa in Macusani, the orphanages at Tisco and Imata in the Colca Valley and needy children recommended by Sister Antonia at the church in Yanque. You can sponsor a child in Peru, click here to find out how.

ICN works with individuals, businesses, NGOs, and churches overseas that are already connected with orphaned and at-risk children. This keeps the startup costs low and reaffirms our desire to partner with indigenous workers whose years of labor, experience and child advocacy make them the true experts on how to help children in their own countries. When ICN networks with these groups and individuals overseas we help them come to the highest level of financial accountability and provide them not only with access to sponsorship, but also to ICN Pen-Pals, Hope for the Holidays, and many other programs."

Mt. Rainier Christian Center

Mt. Rainier Christian Center is a contemporary church in suburban Seattle with a vision to serve the poorest of the poor in the name of Jesus.  Through prayer and long discussions MRCC has made a firm decision to invest in the children of the Peruvian highlands, together with our good friends at ICN and Quechua Benefit.  We believe that God wants everyone to care for those less fortunate than themselves, and that this is an especially important mandate for Christ-followers.  MRCC produces a popular video podcast of weekly Bible teaching (it's free!) which can be found through iTunes or on their website (www.mrcc.us).  Check it out.  They would love to hear from you.

Quechua Benefit introduced the Mt. Rainier Christian Center to Peru in 2008.   After their first visit they decided to adopt the orphanage in Macusani, Musqa, Runa, and began a long term strategy or supporting it with financial assistance, member missions and construction expertise.

Amigos Eye Care

Amigos Eye Care was started at Pacific University in 1975, and since then has sent optometrists/ophthalmologists and optometry students all over the world to provide eye care and eyeglasses to those who are unable to obtain it otherwise.  Our non-profit organization is a student run branch under the larger umbrella non-profit organization of VOSH International (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity).

Last year they sent out 6 eye care missions: Baja Mexico, Costa Rica, Roatan Honduras, Tabuk Philippines, Ixcan Guatemala and Tempoal Mexico (Overall, we provided eye care to just over 4,000 people).  This year one of the trips will be going to Chivay Peru! Quechua Benefit will be our primary sponsor.

These trips provide great opportunities to serve underprivileged people throughout the world and expose participants to the value of humanitarian service, which is rewarding and life changing in so many ways!  Students work hard to earn their positions as team members on these trips, and they also invest a lot of time and energy into the pre-trip preparations (packing all those glasses!).  And as students, it is always a challenge to make ends
meet when it comes to financing their travel costs.  So we try to make these trips as affordable as possible.

Quechua Benefit would like to invite any of our donors to designate a contribution to help the deserving students finance their trip.
