Why We Help

"We are the poorest of the poor provinces, Carabaya, in a forgotten corner of Peru. We are at the end of the road and even our government does not remember we are here. But you have found us year after year and we - and all the Peruvians in the highlands -- thank you for your kindness."

--Mayor of Macusani, 2003

While our alpaca herds offer us a comfortable living, many Quechuas are unable to provide the basics - food, warm clothing, medical and dental care  for their families. Quechua Benefit allows us to share our prosperity with the alpaca people of Peru.

"Team Quechua" 2003 set a new record of 311 patients treated in a single day - breaking the previous record of 250 set in 2002. They have treated more than 10,000 people since 1986.

And in 2004 "Team Quechua" continued the mission.
