Lindy and her husband Paul began raising alpacas at Seldom Scene Farm near Lexington, Kentucky in 1994. Lindy actively shows her animals around the country, and enjoys spinning, felting and knitting their fleece.
She is a past-president of the Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association (AOBA), was founding president of the Kentucky Alpaca Association, chartered the Kentucky Classic Alpaca Show, and served as co-chair of the first AOBA Judges Training Task Force.
Lindy has traveled to Peru three times. On her first trip, a bus breakdown on a remote road in the altiplano led to the opportunity to visit a Quechua school and interact with some local families; this eye-opening experience and several others since have led her to a commitment to donate more time and money to the very worthy cause of the Quechua Benefit. In the fall of 2004, Lindy was a working member of the dental team; this life-changing experience cemented her dedication to the growth of the Quechua Benefit.
Lindy is the first National Coordinator for the Quechua Benefit AOBA Affiliate Program, and she looks forward to helping affiliates devise creative fundraising projects to help the Quechua Benefit.
