Colca Lodge - Grupo Inca

Support for the Quechua Benefit team, when in Peru, comes from the father and son team of Francis and Francois Patthey, and their partner, Alonso Burgos of Grupo Inca. Together they own and operate the Colca Lodge in the beautiful Colca River Valley.

The Colca River winds its way through a deep fault in the Earth's crust, the Colca Canyon, which in some places reaches 3,400 meters deep -- twice as deep as the Grand Canyon.
Ancient stone terraces line the valley, reaching all the way down to the river. Everything in the valley is anti-tech. People travel on foot, cultivate the lands using wooden plows, and irrigate crops from pre-Incan aqueducts. Many of the women still dress in costumes designed thousands of years ago. No one hurries and little changes.

Quechua Benefit is thankful for the kind and generous support offered each year by Grupo Inca and the Colca Valley Lodge, www.colca-lodge.com. They provide food, lodging and transportation for the Quechua Benefit trips, all at no cost.
